When Words Become Objects
"Your words become objects that I must carry..." she said.
When Words Become Objects was conceived in response to a letter that was returned, unopened, by the recipient.  This sculpture explores the weight words have on our lives.  Once delivered, they can never truly be taken back, and we do indeed carry them with us forevermore.
A human figure, beleaguered by the burden of words, carries a cube on it's back inscribed with the word "OBJECT" repeated over and over.  For those who are willing to look a little deeper, there is a message from the author of the letter to the original recipient - a message to which nearly all can relate, having experienced the same emotion.  In that sense, it is a reflection on the individual human condition relative to our shared humanity.
